Business Analysis for Project Managers: Understand BA Better – Be a Better PM

Business analysis is critical to the success of projects and other initiatives in any organization, and yet it is often a role that is not well understood. In addition, project managers often end up filling the BA role unknowingly, which may result in unsatisfactory outcomes for BA activities, disappointed stakeholders, project misalignment with business goals, and organizational waste.

In this presentation, the role of the business analyst is explored as it compares to the role of the project manager. Project managers will recognize where the lines between their BA and PM work are often blurred and how clarity can help their projects. PMs will learn why it’s essential to know what BAs do and how to increase awareness as to when they are filling the role of BA. PMs will appreciate how they can be better in their PM role by better understanding the BA role.
