High Conscious Leadership: A New Way of Being

Heather Tibbles-Vassilev

Think of the best leader you've had.

What made them special?

How would you describe that person? Inspiring? Innovative? Creative? Compassionate?

Now think of that leader who you avoid. How would you describe them? Perhaps blaming, competitive, in constant crisis management?

Now think of the leader you'd like to become. It's easy to identify with the first leader, but making this a reality in a scorecard-driven culture can be challenging. It requires a new way of being.

Being an effective leader in the twenty-first century requires letting go of the autocratic, dictatorial, controlling stereotype we have witnessed in the past.  Today’s leader must be participatory and flexible, yet also powerful enough to inspire others… WHILE achieving the goals and vision of their company. To change the way we lead, we must change what we do AND the perceptions that drive our thoughts, emotions and actions. We must find our Choice.

Leaders who practice this mindset shift are in their natural element. They are able to be in the flow, even in crisis. They achieve both engagement AND productivity, embrace failure for the learning it brings and create environments that draw people to them. AND they bring that balance home to their personal lives.
